Frequently asked questions

Q: What standard nursing service is included in the levy?
A: Clinic services include:

  • Blood pressure
  • Blood glucose monitoring and information
  • Weight monitoring and dietary advice
  • Wound management
  • Removal of stitches
  • Medical referrals
  • Administering of injections
  • Administering of medication
  • Nursing stations staffed from 08:00 to 17:00, Monday to Friday
  • Nursing staff on regular apartment ‘rounds’, visiting and keeping an eye on the general wellbeing of residents

Q: Will there be experienced medical staff on hand 24 hours a day? How do I alert them if I need help? Will there be someone to assist me with 'smaller', essential daily tasks?
A: Yes, absolutely! Expert medical staff is available at the press of a button. All you have to do is activate the emergency call button next to your bed or in the shower for immediate help 24 hours a day, seven days a week. And whether you need someone to change a light bulb or post a letter, there will always be someone to assist you with every one of life’s daily tasks.

Q: Is it possible (and necessary) to have a private TELKOM connection?
A: The internal communication system (PABX) makes allowance for free internal calls to other residents, access control, the nurse station, etc. For external calls (local, national, international and fax facilities), the system offers 30 lines for incoming/ outgoing calls and 1 000 direct inward dialing lines i.e. 1 000 unique telephone numbers that can be listed in a conventional telephone directory (just like any Telkom number). The monthly rental fee for this service is markedly less expensive than the normal Telkom tariff.

Q: Will I have access to a library service?
A: The Stellenbosch Library offers a full library service every second Thursday.

Q: Will residents of Bonheur be able to use the facilities and participate in the social activities available at la Clémence?
A: Bonheur residents are warmly welcomed as members of the broader la Clémence community. As is the case with every resident, participation in activities and the use of facilities is subject to the la Clémence regulations. In fact, Bonheur residents may find that a social whirlwind awaits, with double invitations – for both Bonheur and la Clémence activities – the order of the day!

We invite you to contact our dedicated Bonheur consultant, who is eager to help you find
the perfect solution to your assisted living needs. We look forward to meeting you!
